US slaps tariffs as high as 3,521% on solar imports from South-east Asia
Summary: The US imposed new duties as high as 3,521% on solar imports from Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand. The duties, which follow a year-long trade probe, are intended to offset alleged unfair subsidies and pricing by foreign manufacturers. While benefiting domestic manufacturers, the duties will increase costs for US renewable developers reliant on inexpensive foreign supplies.
