S’pore interest rates could bottom out in second quarter of 2026: UOB

Summary

UOB predicts Singapore’s interest rates, measured by the Singapore Overnight Rate Average (Sora), will bottom out in the second quarter of 2026, reaching around 1% before rising to 1.39% by the end of the year. This is expected to occur as the US Federal Reserve cuts rates, with UOB anticipating two 25 basis point cuts in 2026. While Singapore’s economic growth is projected to moderate to 2.6% in 2026, this is still considered a decent rate.
